¨When the infinite gets to you and you show your infinite, that is Divinity"

- Yogi Bhajan

WHAT IS KUNDALINI YOGA?

In Sanskrit, kundal means “coiled snake.” Kundalini refers to the energy that is believed, in tantric yoga tradition, to be present within each of us since birth and coiled at the base of the spine. Kundalini energy is considered to be the ultimate life force and the source of our creative power, spiritual gifts, and shakti, or divine feminine energy.

Kundalini Yoga is a wonderful transformative style of yoga that enables you to reach new heights of introspection and self-awareness. It gives access to the full potential of a human being, experienced when the energy of the glandular system is combined with the energy of the nervous system creating full totality and  integration in the brain. From there consciousness can arise fully and be at disposal of the being and in service of the divine consciousness.  â€‹

WHAT IS CHAKRA?

Chakra is an energy center within the subtle body, mainly located vertically along the spine, starting from the base and extending to the crown of the head.  The term “chakra” is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “wheel”. These spinning wheels of energy are vital focal points for reception and transmission of life force energy, and each one is associated with specific physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of a person´s wellbeing. There are many in the body but seven main ones are commonly recognized.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A SESSION?

A typical practice of Kundalini Yoga consist in 6 distinct parts:

1.   “Tuning in” with the Adi mantra for guidance and Mangala Charn mantra for protection.
2.  Pranayama or warm up: It could be a specific breathing technique or could be a series of movements to stretch the spine.
3.  Kriya: a set of yoga poses, movements and mudras (hand gestures), and mantras that opens the body energetic pathways.
4.  Relaxation: A time to deeply relax to absorb and integrate the practice and bring rejuvenation into the body, mind and spirit.
5.   Closing Meditation: Might consist of a repeated mantra or a guided meditation centered in a specific topic.
6.  Closing Mantra “Long Time Sun” and “Sat Nam”

Each session you will be activating the energy at the base of the spine and channel it up through your chakra centers (energy centers), by strengthening body, mind and spirit, the energy will lead to a full body- kundalini awakening.

WHAT TO WEAR?

Traditionally, yogis wear white clothing as this color relates to expanding one´s aura and repelling negative energy, but that would be just choice, what is most important is to wear something comfortable that allows you to focus more in your inner experience.

WHY WE CHANT?

We chant mantras, mantra comes from “man”, meaning mind and “tra” meaning tool, so it is a tool for focusing and harnessing the mind. Chanting is a very important part in Kundalini Practice. The shape of the mouth and the placement of the tongue as the mantras are sang, stimulate pressure points in the mouth, bringing a sense of calm, peace and a meditative state of mind by shifting energy in your brain.
