Yin Yoga

¨Between Stimulus and response
there is a space.
In that space is our power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and our. freedom"
- Viktor E. Frankl
WHAT IS YIN YOGA?
Yin Yoga is a slow paced, serene and contemplative practice that will invite you to explore the depths of stillness and introspection by holding asanas (postures) for extended periods of time, if necessary, with the use of props to help the body to feel supported, more relaxed and at ease. Yin Yoga incorporates principles of traditional Chinese medicine with asanas that are meant to stimulate the movement of Qi/Chi (Prana or life force), in the channels of the subtle body known as meridians in Chinese medicine and nadis in the Indian tradition.
In a Yin Yoga sequence, moderate stress will be applied to the connective tissues in the body (ligaments, tendons and fascia) with the aim to increase circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.
The ultimate purposes of the practice of Yin Yoga include achieving a more meditative state of mind to open the heart and invoke the higher self by a dedicated cultivation of inner peace and stillness.
I combine the practice of Yin Yoga with sound healing for the last relaxation of the session, Tibetan bowls, gong, chimes, drums and rain sticks are used to help the body to relax deeper as the sound travels through every cell of the body.
